Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri, is a private research university. Certainly, St. Louis is a great city to visit and a great city to live in. Eustis Chair recently worked with Washington University for the second time. The events and interior design team at the university contacted Eustis Chair when they needed wooden chapel chairs to last a lifetime.
We manufactured this second batch of custom chairs to go in the Graham Chapel on campus at Washington University. The university looked through our extensive chair catalogue. They decided to order 20 William and Mary stacking chairs for use in the Graham chapel. Indeed, Graham Chapel got it’s name from Benjamin Brown Graham. His widow, Christine Blair Graham, gave the chapel to the university as a sort of memorial to her late husband.
According to their website:
“Dedicated in 1909, Graham Chapel is used for concerts, plays and the university’s lecture program, the Assembly Series, which has brought prominent figures in politics, academia, religion, the arts and the sciences to Washington University since 1949.”
Finally, Eustis Chair loves working with universities to provide wooden chairs for dining, spiritual spaces, offices, libraries, and more. We hope to work with Washington University in St. Louis again in the future. One thing is for certain, these chairs will last them for decades.
