At Eustis Chair, some of our most cherished installations are those that grace the halls of public libraries. Among them, a standout project was our collaboration with the Wellesley Public Library, a town with a rich history and a deep commitment to education and community.
Discovering Wellesley: A Hub of Learning and Culture
Situated just 20 minutes west of Boston, Wellesley, Massachusetts, has its roots intertwined with neighboring Needham until 1880. The town is renowned for its unwavering dedication to education, as evidenced by the presence of three distinguished colleges – Babson College, Wellesley College, and Massachusetts Bay Community College. Beyond higher education, Wellesley boasts exceptional public and private schools that further contribute to its educational prowess.
In addition to its educational institutions, Wellesley takes pride in its outstanding libraries. With three libraries gracing the town, including the main library, a new addition unveiled in 2003, as well as branches in Wellesley Hills and Wellesley Falls, the town fosters a rich environment of learning and knowledge.
Wellesley Free Library and Eustis Chair Collaboration
One of the significant highlights in our portfolio is our collaboration with the Wellesley Free Library, an institution that epitomizes the town’s commitment to education and community. In a testament to the quality of our craftsmanship, the town selected 166 of our Fairfield chairs for their new main library.
The Fairfield chair, designed in the arts and crafts style, seamlessly marries functionality with aesthetics. Boasting a 10-year warranty, these chairs were meticulously crafted to meet the unique needs of the Wellesley Public Library. Beyond their comfortable design, the Fairfield chairs elevate the library’s ambiance, contributing to the overall beauty and functionality of the space.
Collaborating with DRA Architects for this project was a joyous experience, and we look forward to future opportunities to work together.
