University of Connecticut’s Library Chairs

At Eustis Chair, we take immense pride in our commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Recently, we had the distinct honor of contributing to the University of Connecticut’s Homer Babbidge Library by delivering and installing 48 of our meticulously crafted Westminster chairs in the prestigious Auriemma Reading Room.

A Union of Tradition and Innovation

The Auriemma Reading Room, a serene haven for students and faculty, required seating that blended seamlessly with its elegant ambiance while offering durability and comfort. Our Westminster chairs were the perfect fit. These chairs are a testament to our dedication to marrying traditional design with modern engineering, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and long-lasting performance.

The Process: From Concept to Installation

Collaboration with UConn: Our journey with the University of Connecticut began with a collaborative process. We worked closely with the library’s team to understand their specific needs and design preferences. It was crucial to us that the chairs not only matched the room’s existing decor but also provided exceptional comfort for long study sessions.

Craftsmanship: Each Westminster chair was handcrafted in our American factory, where we use sustainable practices and the finest materials. Our skilled artisans paid meticulous attention to every detail, from the selection of hardwoods to the precision of joinery, ensuring that each chair met our high standards of quality.

Sustainability: Sustainability is at the heart of what we do at Eustis Chair. By sourcing sustainable materials and employing eco-friendly practices, we reduce our environmental footprint. Our chairs are built to last, which means fewer replacements and less waste over time. The University of Connecticut shares our commitment to sustainability, making this collaboration even more meaningful.

Delivery and Installation: The delivery and installation process was executed with the same care and precision as the crafting of the chairs. Our team ensured that the installation was seamless, and that the chairs were arranged perfectly to enhance the Auriemma Reading Room’s atmosphere.

The Final Result

The Auriemma Reading Room now boasts 48 new Westminster chairs, each one a blend of classic beauty and modern durability. The chairs have already become a favorite among students and faculty, offering both comfort and support during long hours of study and research.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Excellence

This project is a shining example of what we strive for at Eustis Chair: creating high-quality, sustainable furniture that enhances the spaces it inhabits. We are grateful to the University of Connecticut for trusting us with this important project and are delighted to see our chairs contributing to the enriching environment of the Homer Babbidge Library.
