Traditional Tablet Chair by Eustis Chair
The elegant Cross Campus chair, designed for Yale University, was one of our first wood tablet chair designs. This type of chair is also commonly known as a tablet desk or tablet arm desk. Our chairs are often spotted in classrooms, schools, libraries, and academic buildings at private schools, secondary schools, colleges and universities.
This chair is a classic application of our mortise and tenon joinery. It is also extremely durable due to its sturdy bottom rails connecting the chair legs. We engineered a tablet arm chair that stands up to decades of hard use. Yes, even in an academic setting.
The Cross Campus
The elegant back rails provide excellent back support. They are strong and protect the chair against breaks. The stretchers near the bottom of the chair are a common practice in woodworking. Traditionally, the chair stretchers are the cornerstone for a chair’s overall endurance. Every aspect of our wood tablet chairs are strong enough to withstand whatever comes their way.
The Eustis Joint, which takes advantage of steel rods and space age epoxy, makes the joints stronger than the wood itself. This durability comes in an elegant and functional package: The Eustis Cross Campus chair.
