Sustainable Design Chair
Sustainability is extremely important to us. Our craftspeople make all of our chairs in the US. Furthermore, all of our hardwood is sustainability grown and shipped to us. We believe in being kind to the earth and we love using sustainable materials. In fact, our mission is to create elegant, sustainable and comfortable chairs for high use spaces. What is a more high use space that a library? Libraries house hundreds and thousands of people in a single day. Therefore, libraries need to be able to rely in their furniture to hold up. With daily wear and tear in mind, we create our joinery to be the strongest on the market. We craft our chairs with steel rods for stability and reinforce each with retrograde epoxy.
The City of Alameda, CA, went to bid today for 204 Jenkins chairs for their new Alameda Free Library. San Francisco architects Page & Moris chose the Jenkins chair for its clean, sustainable design and its Eustis Joint® durability. They also liked the fact that Eustis Chair would accommodate four configurations and 10 different fabrics to meet the design requirements of the library. Furthermore, we also offer a 20 year warranty protecting against joint failure for chairs that have the Eustis Joint construction.
