George Washington and Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon is the history filled home of the first President of the United States, George Washington. It is just a stone’s throw away from Washington D.C. in Mount Vernon, Virginia. There are so many things to see at Mount Vernon. Their website suggests allowing yourself several hours there. Accordingly, this will allow you to experience all the history Mount Vernon has to offer. Mansion tours last 20 to 45 minutes. There are historical characters around the estate to interact with. There are gardens to explore. In the Spring and Summer you can visit the Pioneer farm. There is even an augmented reality tour! Talk about combining technology and history together. What fun!
The newest feature at Mount Vernon is called Be Washington: It’s Your Turn to Lead. It is an interactive experience. This experience is located in the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center. The best part of the experience as far as we’re concerned are the Eustis Chairs–especially a historic wood chair!
Mount Vernon, George Washington, and Eustis Chair is a Winning Combination
Mount Vernon contacted Eustis Chair to build our Cataumet Windsor historic wood chair. Our chairs are part of a new interactive project in their visitor center. We will deliver 36 chairs later this Fall. The Cataumet chair is unmatched in durability and made of our elite joinery. These chairs will last for decades, just like Mount Vernon.
