Boston Public Library Chooses Stacking Chair for Abbey Room Renovation
The Boston Public Library has ordered 200 King & Prince chairs for their renovation of the Abbey Room. These elegant and durable stacking chairs will be going into what is clearly the most elegant public function space in Boston, and possibly in the entire US.

Harvard University Chooses Jenkins Chair for Quincy House Dining Hall
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University has a regular program of renovating their elegant campus dining halls. For 2008, they are renovating Quincy House, and they have chosen our Jenkins chair for its clean, simple lines, and rock-solid durability. Quincy House will be the 8th major project that Eustis Chair has completed for Harvard since 1995.

Eustis Chair Gets University of Reno Project
Every major US manufacturer of library furniture competed for the contract for the 300,000 sq. ft. Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center at the University of Nevada Reno. The contract for 922 chairs was awarded today to Eustis Chair. The RFP called for furniture that is "traditional and formal, comfortable, and exceptionally durable".
Our patented Eustis Joint® allowed us to design a chair that met all of these requirements.

Santa Clara University Chooses Eustis Stacking Chair
Santa Clara University had an interesting challenge for their furniture dealer: find us an elegant hardwood chair for our library reading room that is stackable, so we can bring in more students for special functions. Two Connecticut Libraries Choose Fairfield Chair
The Fairfield Chair, designed in 2001 for Fairfield University, has been chosen for renovations of two more Connecticut Libraries, Wallingford and Simsbury. This classic library design was specified for Wallingford by Janice Newell of JNI Design, and for Simsbury by Barbara Joslin of JCJ Architecture. Barbara and Janice have both specified Eustis before, and know that their clients will be thrilled with the elegance, comfort, and durability of these chairs.

Two More Libraries Get Jenkins Chair
Boston's New England School of Law took delivery today of 100 Jenkins chairs, to be followed in two months by a shipment to Boone County Library in Kentucky. Ephraim Library in Utah chooses Ashburnham

Westminster College Chooses Two Eustis Stacking Chairs
St. Louis architects Mackey Mitchell learned of the patented Eustis Joint® while exhibiting next to us at several university trade shows. They recommended our stacking chairs to their client, Westminster College, for their major new dining hall project. Westminster College chose the new Willard chair for their main dining hall, and they chose the very elegant King & Prince Chair for the small dining rooms. Mueller Leadership Hall, an important new campus focal point, will open for the fall of 2007.

Yale University Chooses Eustis Chair for New Custom Chair
Working with Chicago-based architect HBRA, Yale University today chose Eustis Chair to build a custom chair for their major renovation of the Cross Campus Library. Aric Lasher of HBRA approved the first prototype created by Eustis, shown at right, and both Architect and client are thrilled with this new chair. 190 side chairs and 90 arm chairs are to be delivered to New Haven in September.

First Delivery of new Westlake Chair
Central Rappahannock Regional Library took delivery today of 50 new Westlake Chairs. Emma Willard School Chooses Custom Stacking Chair
The Emma Willard School today chose 425 stacking Willard chairs for their renovated Gothic style dining hall. Original plans called for just 160 stacking chairs for use during special school functions. Beverly Hills Library and Swarthmore College get Skillman Chairs
The second of two batches of Skillman chairs was delivered today, 100 chairs to the science library at Swarthmore College. Two weeks ago we delivered 55 Skillman chairs to Beverly Hills Public Library. Third Major Library Selects the Jenkins Chair
Bids were awarded today for 184 Jenkins chairs to be manufactured for the expansion/renovation of the Wheaton Public Library in Wheaton, IL. Library personnel first saw the Jenkins Chair at the 2005 ALA conference, and asked their architects, Burnidge Cassell, to look into this unique chair. After several months of deliberations, the chairs were finally ordered this week.

UCLA Chooses Charleston for Phased Replacement Program

Harvard Business School Chooses Edison Chair
Five years ago Harvard Business School opened The Spangler Center, with an elegant Grillroom in the 1920's style of the original HBS campus. The Windsor-style chairs selected for the facility have not held up, so HBS decided to replace them with the Edison. Eustis Chair built 650 of these chairs for Harvard in 1995, and all but 30 are still in service after 11 years of daily use by 1,200 college freshmen.

Alameda Public Library selects Jenkins Chair
The city of Alameda, CA, went to bid today for 204 Jenkins chairs for their new library. Bridgewater State Orders Phase-2 Chairs

Carleton College Dining Hall Renovation
Carleton College issued its PO today for 225 Novato chairs and a custom Novato barstool for their dining hall renovation, to be completed in the late summer. College administrators considered a shorter and less elegant chair, but recognized the visual impact of these distinctive chairs, and the durability of our pinned mortise & tenon construction.

Charleston Chair Attracts More Library Buyers
The elegant Charleston Chair, selected in February for a large college library, was installed this week in the elegant new Merrimac Public Library, designed by Amsler Woodhouse MacLean. Cornell University Chooses Eustis Chair
Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences today ordered 50 Oberlin Chairs for use in a few of their classrooms. This is a first for Eustis Chair, as many college administrators don't feel they can afford the quality of a Eustis Chair in their every-day classrooms. Oregon Public Library opts for Eustis Joint®
The Medford Headquarters Library of Medford, Oregon, issued the purchase order today for 314 custom hardwood chairs made with the patented Eustis Joint®. When the architects at Fletcher Farr Ayotte saw owner Fred Eustis Stand on the legs of one of our Eustis Joint® chairs, they realized that they did not have to give up elegance to achieve their client's goals for strength and durability.

SOU Chooses Eustis
After a seven month search, Southern Oregon University decided today to go with a custom chair designed and manufactured by Eustis Chair for their library renovation project. After rejecting off-the-shelf chairs from Eustis and from several other manufacturers, the SOU selection committee, working with Portland architects SRG Partnership, developed a design concept that led to the “Oregon Chair”, pictured at right.
The clean lines and elegant comfort of this chair would not have been possible without our patented Eustis Joint®, a system using concealed steel rods and space-age epoxies to create a joint that is stronger than the hardwood itself.
Contract discussions are currently underway for the purchase of 550 of this new custom chair, to be delivered in four phases between October of this year and January of 2005.

Exeter Modular Pew
Phillips Exeter Academy celebrated the reopening tonight of its 106 year old chapel, the culmination of a 5 year restoration project. The 300 guests enjoyed the comfort and elegance of their surrounding seated in the unique Exeter Modular Pew. These elegant, interlocking chairs, modeled after those in the National Cathedral, have the traditional look and feel of church pews, including a hymnal slot in the back of each chair. Robert Morris University Chooses Bainbridge Jr. Chair
Robert Morris University held their grand opening ceremony today for their new inter-faith chapel, the Ann and Alvin Rogal Family Chapel. The modern structure features a high ceiling and an abundance of natural light, and sits on the highest point of the campus. Boston Architect Hoyle Doran & Berry designed this elegant modular pew, but found that conventional joinery was not strong enough to meet its unique requirements. Eustis Chair Completes Delivery of 560 Bartlett Hall Chairs
Eustis Chair is proud to announce its on-time delivery and installation of 560 chairs for the newly restored University of Chicago dining hall, Bartlett Hall Commons. The delivery culminated a 21-month project in which Eustis, working with architects Bruner/Cott Associates, created a distinctive traditional chair that is both elegant and durable, and yet is stackable.
Bartlett Hall Commons was built in the Neo-Gothic style at the turn of the 20th century, and has been in use for 100 years as a gymnasium. Because of the expansive size and simple elegance of the dining hall, the Architects felt that the furniture would make a strong visual statement, and urged their client to use the remarkable new Bartlett Hall chair. Eustis Chair Completes Chair for Oberlin College's New Science Building
Eustis Chair has recently completed production of 124 library chairs for Oberlin College's new Science Building. The chair was designed in collaboration with Boston architect Payette Associates, and provided a design bridge between two off-the-shelf alternatives, neither of which as quite right for the client. Made in Red Oak and finished in natural converion varnish, the Oberlin Chair has a delicate elegance as a result of the complementary curves in the back bendings, the back slats, and the back posts.
Like all of the chairs built by Eustis Chair, the Oberlin uses mortise & tenon construction and old world craftsmanship to ensure that these distinctive chairs meet the test of time.

The first chair in the line is named the Bartlett Hall, designed for the University of Chicago for their restoration of a Neo-Gothic dining hall built at the turn of the century. This chair, as pictured, is made from quartersawn White Oak and finished in Natural conversion finish.

Eustis Chair Provides Dining Chairs for Harvard's New Spangler Center
Eustis Chair is pleased to announce the delivery of 350 elegant Chippendale style chairs for the main dining hall in Harvard Business School’s new Spangler Center. Renowned architect Robert A. M. Stern designed the Spangler Center in the Georgian style to evoke the distinctive and traditional image of Harvard. The interior furnishings were designed to augment the elegance of the building, and Eustis Chair was chosen to provide the chairs for the dining hall.
