Occasionally we are asked to downsize a chair by a library that wants the same chairs in their Children's or Youth section. Unfortunately, it is nearly as costly to make our remarkable chairs in a reduced size. The good news is that the smaller chairs, made with the same joinery as their adult counterparts, are extremely strong, and will probably outlast all the other furniture in the library!

A friend in the library business asked if we could mix hardwood species for our popular Charleston chair, and the Northampton was the result. We recommend a natural finish for this chair, as shown, in order to emphasize the natural beauty of the two contrasting hardwoods. This treatment would also work well with Cherry and Walnut, and would also look great on many of our other chairs.
